Village Travelers Policy
for those with Memory Issues
2023/2024
Village Travelers considers all our clients to be family. Our goal is for individuals to remain socially active as long as they are physically and mentally able to do so without making the process too arduous. We want the best possible experience for each of our travelers and our goal has always been for individuals, especially seniors, to feel safe while traveling with our group. Our intent is to help each traveler with successful trip registration, a fun and satisfying event, and a safe trip home. Therefore, Village Travelers is publishing our policy for travelers with memory issues.
Travelers experiencing memory issues or traveling with a person who has memory issues are welcome to attend any of our trips accompanied by a companion who can offer assistance to the individual with staying with our group, comforting them on the occasion of dealing with unfamiliar surroundings, and with any transactions that include paying for meals or other shopping/payment transactions.
We are happy to have a responsible party write the checks for each trip and send them to the office on behalf of the traveler. Payments need to be made at sign-up. Family members or friends should contact us via email or phone to inform us if they will be taking care of the payments for the traveler. It is recommended that the traveler receive a phone call from a family member or friend the evening before the trip and the morning of the trip so that they do not forget to come. Family members or other responsible parties that care for individuals are encouraged to share their emails with Village Travelers so they may receive our monthly newsletters to stay informed of the special events we have planned. We are willing to work with friends and family members who wish to travel as a companion with a traveler.

Reopening Policy for Post Covid Pandemic
Village Travelers mission for over 29 years has been to provide a safe, fun and worry-free environment for our travelers. Over the last few years it has been most challenging, to say the least. We have continued to stay informed and educated with researchers, medical professionals, and other companies within the industry who also uphold high standards and keep every traveler’s best interest in mind.
We believe it has come time, according to all the research available to us, that we can drop the requirement to be fully vaccinated for Covid. For many of you this might be too soon, but we have made a decision to open up travel to anyone. While we highly recommend everyone be vaccinated for Covid and influenza if they are able, we will not require proof of your vaccinations after April 15, 2023. We are currently in a transitioning period for Covid and the new strain is milder and does not present the serious threat as it did before. More of our travel partners are also dropping their restrictions. Travel is now different than it was prior to the worldwide pandemic. Be aware that there are still challenges with less services and staffing within the industry. We will continue to do our best to accommodate our traveler’s needs as we transition to travel.
We fully welcome back those of you who were unable to be vaccinated for medical reasons.
